Natsume’s Book of Friends season 7 episode 9 Recap
The story began with Natsume and Shuuichi Natori reuniting after a long time. Natsume was taken to an abandoned house that had loquats. The visit was for something else. It all went wrong when Natsume got into an accident with a person in the next building. The mansion belonged to the Miharu family, which is when the duo met Matoba.
He explained that a Yokai must be welcomed at certain time periods, and failing to do so could lead to disaster. When Natori and Natsume joined in on the welcoming ceremony, they realized that something was amiss.
Natsume encountered an entity that was trying to interrupt the ceremony. It turned out to be a Yokai who wanted the Miharu clan dead, entrapping Natsume in the process. The air inside the room was getting harder to breathe for Natori and Matoba.
